The Honduran Cigar Industry Has Much to Be Proud Of
The Honduran cigar industry has been producing cigars since the middle of the 18th century. Danli in El Paraiso is considered the center of this country's cigar industry. Copan and the Talanga Valley are also known for producing a fine cigar. Growing tobacco with Cuban seed in Honduras has produced cigars that bring back memories of when you could smoke a Cuban cigar in the United States. The cigar factory may be in Honduras, but if you took a smoke and closed your eyes and made believe you were in Cuba... Okay, back to reality! Conditions in Honduras closely mimic that of Cuba. This combined with the fact that many cigar masters from Cuba came to this country during the exodus of 1959, makes for some incredible cigars. Oh, and I guess the Cuban seed they had in their pockets didn't hurt either! The cigar industry in Honduras is rich in history and here to stay. It is a testament to what hard work and vision can achieve. In fact, according to cigar industry figures, Honduran imports to the U.S. are second only to the Dominican Republic. The cost of growing tobacco and producing cigars in Honduras is relatively inexpensive. What does this mean to you as a cigar smoker?... World class cigars at reasonable prices! Viva la Honduras!
