Choosing a Cigar Box HumidorIf you're looking for a cigar box humidor to properly store your cigars, here are a few guidelines to follow.... As you can see from the picture, the humidor should have a lip which makes for a snug fit when the lid is closed. Although it's not in the picture, this cigar humidor comes with a shallow top shelf, which allows one to rotate the cigars easier without having to dig deep into the whole box and possibly damage the cigars. Increased air flow also occurs. There are also two dividers which can be used anywhere to keep certain cigars segregated. Of course, the shelf and dividers are a personal choice for you to make, but anything to keep you from having to unnecessarily move your stock is a valuable addition. This keeps you from having to put these on or next to your cigars, saving valuable space and sparing potential damage to your smokes. A properly weighted lid on your cigar box humidor also helps. This needs to provide enough weight to aid in keeping the lid properly sealed. Beware.... make sure the lid can easily stay open without slamming shut on your fingers! I personally also prefer a lock on my humidor and always keep a spare key in a safe place, because I've been known to lose one or two. If you lock your humidor, this not only ensures the lid has been properly sealed, but also keeps the occasional curious child or even adult from venturing into sacred territory. A humidor which has been tampered with and not properly closed can be a potential disaster!
